Search "jhumka design" and you get a thousand photos, almost none of them with a price, a size, or any sense of how the pair will sit on a real ear. So here is the guide we wanted when we started: the jhumka designs you will keep running into when you shop online in Pakistan, what each one suits, and what you should expect to pay.
The prices below are what our own pairs cost at the time of writing. They run from Rs 699 to Rs 1,099. Real gold jhumkas are a different world: they are sold by weight and the price moves with the gold rate, so the jhumka price in Pakistan for a gold pair changes almost daily. Artificial jhumkas let you buy one for Eid, one for a mehndi and one for everyday without checking the rate at all.
If you only want the numbers: lattice and pearl-drop pairs are Rs 699 to Rs 920, dome jhumkas are Rs 899, and the hoop-style jhumkas with ghungroo are Rs 1,099. Everything in our jhumka earrings collection sits under Rs 1,100.
This is the classic. A rounded dome, a bit of pattern work on top, and small beads hanging from the rim. When someone says "jhumka" without any other detail, this is usually what they mean.
The Noor Silver Jhumka is the plain silver-tone version at Rs 899. If you want colour, the Surkh Noor has deep red detailing, and the Siyah Noor goes antique silver with black. They all work with cotton lawn suits and look right at a family wedding without trying too hard.
One thing to look at before you buy: how big the dome is against the model's ear in the photo. On a smaller face a very wide dome can look like it is wearing you.
Instead of a solid dome, these have a cut-out, lattice pattern with stone detailing and silver beads hanging below. They feel lighter and a little more modern. At Rs 699 they are also the easiest first pair if you have never bought jhumkas before.
We have them in several colours: Rose Silver with pink stones, Noir Silver with black, Multicolor Silver for people who want something bright, and Bronze Silver with bronze stones. If you are looking for a simple jhumka design for everyday wear, start here. They look good with a plain kurta and jeans just as easily as with a shalwar kameez.
Warmer and softer than the silver ones. The top is antique-gold filigree, the stone colour sits in the middle, and pearl drops finish it off. These are the ones people reach for at weddings and on Eid, when the outfit is already dressed up and you want the earrings to feel traditional.
The Ruby Pearl has deep red stones, the Sage Pearl is a soft green (Rs 920), the Noir Pearl is glossy black, and the Ivory Crystal Pearl uses clear stones, which makes it the safest one to wear with a heavily embroidered outfit. Most of this range is Rs 699.
The newest take on the shape. The top is a hoop rather than a dome, so the earring sits closer to the ear, and the jhumka part hangs below with small ghungroo that make a soft sound when you move. They come in enamel colours and are the most detailed pairs we make, which is why they are Rs 1,099.
The Mehr Jhumka Hoops are the traditional gold-tone version. For colour, look at Zamurrad in emerald green, Gulabo in pink, Siyah in black or Mahira in red. If you like jhumkas but find the full dome too much, these are the ones to try.
If you are buying one pair, buy black or antique silver. They go with the widest range of outfits and you will not be hunting for the right dupatta. A red or green pair is the second purchase, for the days you want the earrings to be the main thing. For ideas on matching, our guide to styling jhumkas with Pakistani outfits goes through it outfit by outfit.
Jhumkas hang, so the longer the drop, the more they swing and the more you notice them by evening. A few habits help when you are buying online:
Look at how far the earring reaches on the model, not just how it looks on its own. Check whether the photo shows the pair next to a hand or a face, which tells you more than any measurement. If you are not sure, go one size smaller than your instinct. A slightly small jhumka is a nice detail; a heavy one is a reason to take them off at the party.
Hold both earrings next to each other. They should be the same size, the stones should sit flat, the finish should be even, and the hook should be smooth and straight with nothing sharp on the inside. A good pair also does not rattle or feel loose when you shake it gently. If something is wrong, tell us within 3 days with a photo. Damaged or incorrect items are exchanged free.
Put jhumkas on last, after perfume and hairspray, and take them off first when you get home. Wipe them with a soft dry cloth and store them in a small box so the beads do not scratch each other. The full routine is in our guide on caring for artificial jewellery.
What is the price of jhumka earrings in Pakistan? It depends on the metal. Gold jhumkas are priced by weight and the day's gold rate. For artificial jhumkas, ours are Rs 699 to Rs 1,099. Pairs that cost far less than that often cut corners on the plating and the hooks, so look closely at the photos and reviews.
Which jhumka design is best for girls with small faces? Lattice jhumkas and the hoop style. Both are lighter and sit closer, so they do not overpower the face.
Can I order jhumka earrings online anywhere in Pakistan? Yes. Delivery is Rs 250 and it is free if you pay in advance by bank transfer. Cash on Delivery is available, and most orders arrive in 3 to 7 working days. The details are on our shipping page.
What if they do not suit me? We do exchanges, not returns, within 3 days of delivery, for a pair of the same or higher value. The exchange policy explains who pays for shipping.
When you are ready, the whole range is on the jhumka earrings page.
